The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club announced today forward Ian Schultz and defenceman Michael Stone will serve as co-captains for the 2009-10 season.

It’s the second time in franchise history the Hitmen have selected co-captains as last season Kyle Bortis and Carson McMillan shared the role.

Schultz is in his third full season with the Hitmen and is coming off back-to-back 15 goal seasons. The St. Louis Blues prospect has three points (2g 1a) in two games this season.

Stone, a draft choice of the Phoenix Coyotes, is now in his fourth full season in Calgary. He recorded career highs in goals (19), assists (42) and points (61) last season.

The Hitmen will have two assistant captains this season; Brandon Kozun and Tyler Fiddler.
